Marketing & Messaging is like.....DATING?!

AHHH!

So, I had the amazing opportunity this weekend to speak at a huge virtual summit, Smart Success Healthcare Virtual Summit 2020. What an amazing event!!

I always get so many golden nuggets and takeaways after attending events like these.

Rather than speaking on something really tactical, I decided to speak about the power of messaging, because it is a critical, yet too often overlooked piece to a successful business.

It was titled "Treating Your Biz Messaging Like Tinder? Prepare To Be Catfished." LOL. & I want to give you a little sneak peak of what I talked about today.

You know, one of my favorite analogies to give people when they ask me about their messaging is to compare it to the current dating world (ugh, what a shit show that can be, right?!)

Story time here for just a sec. So, about a year and a half ago one of my good girlfriends and I decided to go speed dating. You know, where you've got 5 minutes with someone before they blow the loud horn for the guys to rotate to the next eligible gal. I’d never done it before so I was really excited for the experience.

I “dated” about 15 guys I’d say in that 90 minutes.

What a freaking DISASTER it turned out to be LOL

And they ALL talked about themselves the entire freaking time (insert huge eye roll)

Not one of them asked about me, what I like to do, places I like to go, my dreams, nothing!!

They were so egocentric and all about themselves, trying to persuade me how great and amazing they were. Huge. Turn. Off

BUT, this one of the most common mistakes I see when I read other people’s messaging.

People are all about themselves and talk about how great they are
People think that their products and services are the best thing on the planet

Which makes them come across as real douche bags in their messaging when they do that

If you come across like this and only talk about yourself, your products or your services, in your messaging, you’re going to have a really hard time getting someone to say “YES” to wanting to work with you or buy anything from you

The way you communicate in your messaging is not something you can half-ass.

The reason people buy isn't because of your product or service. People buy because of the sales message for your product/service.

Remember that.

If you have questions about your messaging, reach out and let's chat!
